Cheer Hearts To Hold
My plan is to donate a thoughtful Cheer Heart, for those suffering from breast cancer.
-My goal? Create an amount of 50+ breast cancer awareness hearts for patients all ages.
-How & Why did I decide in this goal? Recently I have become great friends with someone who is currently suffering from breast cancer. The more I learn and experience with her the struggles she faces everyday, it brought to my attention; that I could be helping many others like her to live with less of a struggle by donating these hearts and bringing cheer.
-How will I reach my goal? Starting by the end of week 2 (April 15) I will create an amout of 15 hearts per week from then on. Once I reach my goal of 50+ hearts, it will be time to make a visit to the patients I am donating these hearts to.
-3 chosen benchmarks? 1) Week 2 (April 15) begin the first batch of Cheer Hearts. 2) Week 3 (April 22) document and create artistic designs to add to the Cheer Hearts, showing how they bring awareness to breast cancer. 3) Week 5 (May 6) I will have 50+ hearts ready for delivery.
-Mentors & Obstacles? Mentors I am thinking of asking are two close friends of mine. To help me along with with the project; one person will help teach me how to sew the Cheer Hearts. While my other friend, will help me design and donate the hearts. Perhaps the obstacles that might arise during this project; could be, sewing machine troubles, coordinating schedules with my mentors, and adding another activity to our weekly calendar. Though the way I would overcome these hurdles, would be calculate our time and energy wisely.
This seems like a really cool concept! I'm not really 100% sure what a "cheer heart" is though... like a plushie? or a valentine?
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of helping the cancer society. What exactly is a cheer heart? Maybe explain what it is exactly, and upload a picture of one, as soon as you can. I'm excited to see your progress, good luck!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as i make my Cheer Hearts; i will upload my first pics, so then you all will have a clearer idea of what a Cheer Heart (plushie) is. Tomorrow i make my first batch! Thank you for committing.
ReplyDeleteSmart project also raising awareness goodjob
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really good idea. I know someone who is going through the struggle of cancer and little things like that would for sure make the process seem less terrible. Can't wait to hear how it goes.
ReplyDeleteI absolutly LOVE the sound of this project! It hits home for me becuase i have more than one family members very dear to me that faced breast cancer and its horrid symptoms that follow. I love that you are trying to spread awareness to the community. My question is, how do plan on gaining these "hearts"?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!I am very excited to see how this all turns out; Currently i am,sewing the hearts out of fabric remnants that i have collected over time, as well as some recycled fabric.
DeleteI hope your friend gets better. It must be hard to watch them go through something like that, but your project sounds like an awesome idea. I'm sure people will love the hearts.
ReplyDeleteI really like the sound of this project! Cancer is something that hits home for a lot of people and unfortunately I have members in my family who currently are in the process of fighting it. Just a question, are they only going to be "plushie" hearts or do you have other ideas? Because I wear a lot of hats, like all the time, and I totally would not mind rocking my own Cheer Heart hat/beanie!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an amazing idea because of how many women & men that go through this. I know that when my mom went through cancer she needed a lot of support through people she knew and people she didn't.
ReplyDeleteTwo people in my family are cancer survivors so I love this idea!! I cant wait to see what they look like. Good job.
ReplyDeleteThis an awesome idea for a project. Looking forward to reading these
